The bone microplates are small and inconspicuous-looking implants. These implants are used in the treatment of the short, flat, irregular bones fractures. They are particularly important in the treatment of the skull and mandible fractures.
The task of our project was to optimize the pictured bone microplates set. We were able to perform the analysis of the material type and the implant geometry. The results of the research enabled us to select the most favorable implant geometry. We determined the most optimal microplate thickness, diameters and location of the screw openings.
